Originally from Sicily, Italy, Giulia moved to the UK in 2021 to start her training at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, in Leeds. Here she became interested in discovering different dance styles, experimenting with new practices such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak dance, modern jazz, and dance theatre, and developing further her study of Contemporary and Ballet techniques. Throughout her time here she had the opportunity to work with Balbir Singh Dance Company, Northern Opera, and Carlos Pons Guerra, among others, and learned from a variety of practitioners, such as Ben Wright, Bruno Guillore, Anna Williams, and Keira Martin, to cite some of them. Giulia is currently following her last year at NSCD. She is curious to approach new experiences, pathways, and connections, beginning from this exciting opportunity of apprenticeship throughout the process of “Into the Novacene”
