Gaia is an Italian artist based in Cardiff. She works as a performer, movement director, facilitator and maker. Her background is in ballet and contemporary dance and fine art and art history. She has a BA in Contemporary Dance from Trinity Laban and has completed a two-years acting training at The Questors Academy in London. Further professional development includes courses with Frantic Assembly, Peeping Tom, Theatre Re and Studio Wayne McGregor. Some of her latest engagements include performing with Welsh National Opera, immersive experiences company Gingerline, choreographer Natalie Sloth Richter and theatre company NORA Productions. Her experience encompasses collaborations with artists from diverse backgrounds and projects in very different settings, including site specific and traditional theatre, gallery spaces, outdoors and immersive theatre, dance, opera, film, photography and fine art. Gaia also works as a freelance practitioner for National Dance Company Wales. She recently started creating her own work, playing with the character Miss B., and founded “Eat a Frog Collective” with Eleanor Felton at the beginning of 2021. Gaia is excited to continue her collaboration with Jack Philp Dance collective, which she has been part of since 2015.
