EX SITU

– ABOUT THE WORK
Exploring classical language, the title of the work; ‘ex situ’ comes from Latin which we can interpret to translate as ‘out of position’. Starting with a classical foundation the work investigates the bounds of axis, direction and centre to explore how to take classical form out of place. Commissioned for Ballet Cymru 2, the identity of the work and the choreography was created in close collaboration with the company dancers. Ex Situ featured as a part of Ballet Cymru 2 Made In Wales tour in 2019.
