Born and raised in The Hague, The Netherlands, Chandenie began her dance training in Indian dance at a young age. She was introduced to contemporary dance, house, hip-hop, and locking at her foundation course at the Amsterdam University of The Arts. She went on to continue her studies at Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts. This year, Chandenie moved to the UK and toured nationally as a company member of the post-graduate performance company VERVE. By continuing to search for new ways of approaching movement, she has been able to develop a movement language in which she uses traditions from the East and from the West. Chandenie has performed works by artists such as Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Blenard Azizaj, Botis Seva, Caroline Finn, Barnaby Booth and Matthew Robinson.
